Darby Crash (formerly Bobby Pyn; born Jan Paul Beahm; September 26, 1958 – December 7, 1980) was an American punk rock vocalist and songwriter who, along with long-time friend Pat Smear (born Georg Ruthenberg), co-founded the punk rock band the Germs.

SOPHISTIFUCK & THE REVLON SPAM QUEENS: He started The Germs under the name “Sophistifuck and the Revlon Spam Queens”, but changed their name to The Germs because they didn’t have enough money to put all the letters on a t-shirt.

1980: Crash committed suicide by intentional heroin overdose on December 7, 1980 in a house in the Mid-Wilshire section of Hollywood. His death was largely overshadowed by that of John Lennon, who was killed by Mark David Chapman in New York just one day after Crash's suicide.
