Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American rock singer and songwriter; one of the most successful and widely-known female rock stars of her era.

SOUTHERN COMFORT: Joplin was a heavy drinker, and Southern Comfort was her drink of choice. The whiskey became so synonymous with the singer, and she therefore boosted the company’s sales to such an extent, that she managed to get them to give her a lynx coat as a thank-you

PEARL: was her nickname but also the name of her last album which was released after her death it became the biggest-selling album of her career.

LANDMARK MOTOR HOTEL: Joplin checked into the Landmark Motor Hotel in Hollywood on August 24, 1970,near Sunset Sound Recorders, where she began rehearsing and recording her album. She died there in room #105 from an heroin overdose.
