Jayne Mansfield (born Vera Jane Palmer; April 19, 1933 – June 29, 1967) was an American actress. She was a major Hollywood sex symbol during the 1950s and early 1960s.

THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT: is a 1956 musical comedy starring Jayne Mansfield in the titular role. The unintended result has been called the "most potent" celebration of rock music ever captured on film. The movie's influence on rock music is significant. The film reached Liverpool, England, in the early summer of 1957. The cameo performances of early rock 'n' roll stars such as Little Richard, Eddie Cochran, and Gene Vincent and His Bluecaps fascinated a 16-year-old John Lennon and thus further inspiring him to pursue his own rock and roll dream.

1966 BUICK: On June 29, 1967, she died in an automobile accident in New Orleans at the age of 34. Her car was a 1966 Buick Electra. This fatal motor vehicle accident that claimed Mansfield's life and spread the rumors of her decapitation had been the subject of many plots and scenes in popular culture.

CHURCH OF SATAN: In San Francisco for the 1966 Film Festival, Mansfield visited the Church of Satan with Sam Brody (her lawyer and boyfriend) to meet Anton LaVey, the church's founder. He awarded Mansfield a medallion and the title "High Priestess of San Francisco's Church of Satan". The media enthusiastically covered the meeting and the events surrounding it, identifying her as a Satanist and romantically involved with LaVey. This might all have been part of her publicity stunts, Karla LaVey confirmed in a 1992 interview with Joan Rivers that Mansfield was indeed a practicing Satanist and that she had a romantic relationship with Anton LaVey.
