Lauren Bacall (born Betty Joan Perske; September 16, 1924 – August 12, 2014) was an American actress known for her distinctive voice and sultry looks.

"YOU KNOW HOW TO WHISTLE, DON'T YOU?": is her iconic moment in To Have and Have Not and one of the most famous in cinema, ( “You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together - and blow.” Is the full quote). when Bogart died in 1957, Bacall placed a whistle inscribed with the line inside the silver urn with his ashes.

BOGIE: was the nickname for her husband Humphrey Bogart. Together they made 4 films together and are one of Hollywood’s most iconic couple.

THE LOOK: Bacall was widely known for her trademark gaze — lowered chin, come-hither and confident stare — affectionately dubbed "The Look." In reality, though, that famous look was born out of necessity. "I used to tremble from nerves so badly that the only way I could hold my head steady was to lower my chin practically to my chest and look up at Bogie," she once revealed. "That was the beginning of 'The Look.'"
