Marie Magdalene "Marlene" Dietrich ( 27 December 1901 – 6 May 1992)was a German actress and singer who held both German and American citizenship.

SHANGHAI LILY: The name of her character in SHANGHAI EXPRESS,was the fourth of seven films von Sternberg and Dietrich made together., and was the highest-grossing movie of 1932, surpassing the all-star Grand Hotel. "It took more than one man to change my name to Shanghai Lily." is one of her famous lines.

THE BLUE ANGEL: is best known for introducing Marlene Dietrich to worldwide attention, In addition, it introduced her signature song, Friedrich Hollaender and Robert Liebmann's "Falling in Love Again (Can't Help It)". It is considered to be a classic of German cinema.

HOT VOODOO: is a song performed by Marlene in the film Blonde Venus. The highlight of the film is the infamous "Hot Voodoo" (music by Ralph Rainger, lyrics by Sam Coslow), which is nearly 8 minutes in length and mostly instrumental, featuring jazz trumpet and drums. Dietrich sings the lyrics toward the end of this sequence, which takes place in a nightclub.
