Natalie Wood (born Natasha Nikolaevna Zakharenko;July 20, 1938 – November 29, 1981) was an American actress. She began her career in film as a child and became a successful Hollywood star as a young adult, receiving three Academy Award nominations before she turned 25 years old.

"LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU": a famous song from the musical Gypsy. Marni Nixon had dubbed Natalie Wood's singing voice in West Side Story the previous year, but Wood did her own singing in Gypsy. A film about the life of Gyspsy Rose Lee, Natalie Wood played Gypsy.

1955: was the year Rebel Without a Cause was released right after the death of her famous co star James Dean. She was very affected by his passing.

SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS: Kazan cast Wood as the female lead in Splendor in the Grass, and her career rebounded. He felt that despite her earlier innocent roles, she had the talent and maturity to go beyond them. For her performance in Splendor in the Grass, Wood received nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
