Prince Rogers Nelson (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer and filmmaker. He sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

DARLING NIKKI: is a song from his 1984 album Purple Rain. The song tells the story of a "sex fiend" named Nikki who seduces the singer. In the film Purple Rain, the song is directed toward Apollonia Kotero's character when she decides to work with Prince's character's rival. It gained wide notoriety for its sexual lyrics and reportedly, Tipper Gore co-founded the Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) in 1985 because she witnessed her daughter, who was 11 years old at the time, singing along to "Darling Nikki". The PMRC would later become known for leading to the use of the Parental Advisory sticker on album covers.

LOVE SYMBOL #2.In 1993, while in a contractual dispute with Warner Bros., he changed his stage name to an unpronounceable symbol, also known as the "Love Symbol", and began releasing new albums at a faster rate to remove himself from contractual obligations. At this time, Prince was alternatively referred to as "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince" or simply "The Artist".

VANITY: Prince renamed her Vanity, as he considered her to be the female form of himself. After learning that Vanity could sing, Prince asked her to become the lead singer of the girl group Vanity 6. Vanity 6 recorded one album, and had some success internationally with the single "Nasty Girl".
